Many companies find it important to use a proxy server for privacy, access to restricted content, and device protection. Configuring a proxy server in the Microsoft Edge browser will certainly not be a problem for you. Just follow these simple instructions to easily start using a proxy server in Microsoft Edge.
To disable proxy server settings in Microsoft Edge, you can use specific command line parameters. To do this, enter "-no-proxy-server", which tells Microsoft Edge not to use a proxy server. Be sure to note that this command will overwrite all previously set proxy server settings. For additional information, you can refer to the official Microsoft advice on this topic.
Despite the fact that support for Internet Explorer has ended, some organizations still use it. However, we recommend switching to Microsoft Edge, which has Internet Explorer mode to support old settings. If you still use Internet Explorer and want to improve security and privacy levels by using proxy servers, you can apply the instructions from this guide.
Please note that these settings apply to the entire system, not just Internet Explorer.
Click the gear icon (⚙️) and go to the "Internet Options" section.
Internet Explorer will open Windows internet settings. From there, you can continue by following the instructions given in the "Proxy Server Settings Using Outdated Windows Settings" section of the Windows proxy server setup guide.
